Teams from Universities across the Africa Continent are invited to register for the 2019 Manfred Lach's Space Law Moot Competition. The Africa Regional Competition will be hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry and the South African Council for Space Affairs (SACSA), a statutory body for all space regulatory matters in South Africa.
This is a unique opportunity for law and science students to engage and deepen understanding of legal matters relevant to outer space, in a unique forum for intellectual and cultural exchange.
In 2018, the African team represented by the University of Pretoria, emerged as the winner of the Competition during the World finals held in Bremen Germany.
The winner of the Africa Regional Round will represent Africa in the upcoming world finals to take place in Washington DC, USA in October 2019. The world finals are traditionally judged by three members of the International Court of Justice.
The team can constitute two or three students currently registered within the faculty of law from any University and there is no prior.
